Maria Carmen Conferti | Assistant Principal
Josh Griffith | Dean of Students
I began my teaching career in Redwood City in 1983 at Hoover Community School, where I taught a 5/6 bilingual combination class. Over the next 12 years, I had the privilege of teaching in several schools across Redwood City. Following this, I pursued my education administration credential and served as principal for 23 fulfilling years at Hoover, Hawes, John Gill, and Fair Oaks schools before retiring.
Driven by my passion for education and community, I returned from retirement to support the district wherever needed. Currently, I proudly serve as the Dean of Students at Hoover Community School, continuing my dedication to the Redwood City community. It has been a remarkable journey thus far, and I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in education

Andrea Hernández | Community School Coordinator
I began my career in education in 2015 and have since served as a teacher, director of academic affairs, and dean of a high school. My passion for equity and access for underserved youth has guided each step of my journey, and I’ve always believed in the power of education to transform lives.
I’m excited to join the Hoover community as the community school coordinator, where I’ll work to support students and their families through meaningful partnerships and responsive programming. Being able to serve in the community where I grew up is deeply meaningful to me—I hope to help students discover their place in the world, dream big, and achieve even more.
